| I haven't gone to Cuba , but I have read somewhere that there are sharp shells on beaches making it difficult to walk!! Some attractions to visit if you are first time visitor are Plaza de la Revolucion, The Malecon,Bay of Pigs, The Isle of Youth. |

| Cubans generally take the bus; taxis are relatively cheap but sometimes hard to find. Your best bet is to rent a car with a driver for about $70 a day. American credit cards are not accepted. Playas del Este and Varadero are famous for white sand and palm-fringed beaches. Havana, is famous for its kicking Caribbean nightlife. To get accomodation according to your budget you may visit http://travel.justluxe.com/ or Yatra.com/Book_a_Hotel_Online or www.booking.com/Hotels etc. |

| I am also looking for first hand information before traveling there. If american credit cards are not accepted there, do we need to bring in the local currency? |

I am a frequent traveler to Cuba. You can't use credit cards that are issued or processed by USA banks. You can't buy Cuban money (Peso Convertible) outside Cuba. Don't bring in US dollars the Cuban banks will charge you an extra 10% taxes. Use Canadian dollars, Euros or Pound Sterling. http://www.havana-guide.com/moneyinhavana.html
Havana has nice beaches too: playas del Este 15 miles from the city center http://www.havana-guide.com/havanabeaches.html . Havana has a great nightlife. _________________ HavanaGuide

Cuba is an island nation in the Caribbean Sea. It is a mix of music, classic cars and Latin culture and offers warm climate and vibrant nightlife.
The Isla de la Juventud, Jardines de la Reina and the Canarreos are the islands of Cuba. The Cayo Largo del Sur is the beautiful and appealing beach famous for snorkeling and scuba diving activities. _________________ Romantic bed and breakfasts |

Staying with a local family in a casa particular. An amazing way to immerse yourself in local life and experience the "real Cuba". You Trinidad Cuba holiday is a great chance to practise Spanish and ask questions about Cuban life and offers a fascinating insight into how the locals live their daily lives.
