Any opinions on this hotel? What should one bring that you do not usually think of? Someone told me that they take away the towels in the morning and bring clean ones in the evening so if you want a shower during the day ...

Thanks for any info

Well, I've never stayed there, so please take my advice with several grains of salt...but several years ago when I wanted to get away in the winter for a cheap long weekend with my husband I saw some fantastic prices for Legends and its sister resort of Samsara. After reading through some of the reviews available on Trip Advisor and other places, I decided it was much better for me to spend a bit more money to get better accommodations. When I was in my 20s, the sort of complaints I read online wouldn't have fazed me much, but I'm older now and I like a bit more comfort in my travels! I don't need posh, by any means, but I don't want my mattress to be on a concrete slab that lies under a leaky roof!

We stayed at the sister property Samsara on our first trip to Jamaica and yes they have a concrete slab instead of a boxspring but quality is in always in the eye of the beholder. If the price is right go for it! One week at Legends Beach Resort beats the hell out of staying up north. I'm 47 and have stayed at places ranging from $20.00 a night to $400.00+. I get a kick out of trying some the bargain places because you never know (looking from a a totally postive perspective) when that hidden gem will turn up. We holiday 7 -8 weeks a winter and part of that is watching our budget on accomodations. Quality is extremely subjective but quantity is what it is. 8 weeks beats 1 week every time.
If you opt for Legends Beach Resort I would skip the all-inclusive. When we were at Samsara, I took a glance at the buffet they served the AI people when we happened to be around at meal-time and thank god we had rooms only. Plus when the AI people wanted beer they got semi-flat draft (Red Stripe was extra). I can only surmise it is the same at Legends.
