Do you have any idea where in Kenya you want to go?
Once you decide on an area or itinerary, you should then decide whether you want a private safari or a group tour. You have a choice of working directly with the safari operator in Kenya or with a safari planner in your home country. Tour companies are rather spendy, so you might find better deals with other companies or safari planners. Let us know where and what you're interested in, and we'll give you some recommendations. |

Kenya Health Requirements
Yellow Fever Vaccination Requirements:
If traveling from an infected area and > 1 year of age.
Malaria Area of Risk:
All, except no risk in cities of Harare

Anthropod Borne Diseases:
Arthropod-borne diseases such as Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, malaria, plague, relapsing fever, Rift Valley fever, tick-bite fever, and typhus (mainly tickborne) have been reported from most of this area. However, except for malaria (chloroquine resistant) in certain areas, they are not likely to be major health problems for the traveler. African sleeping sickness (African trypanosomiasis) can occur. Various forms of filariasis, leishmaniasis, and tungiasis (skin penetration by larva of the female sand flea) may be found in some areas of Kenya.
Foodborne and Waterborne Diseases:
Foodborne and waterborne diseases are common in some areas, particularly amebiasis and typhoid fever. Hepatitis A occurs in this area. Schistosomiasis is endemic in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe.
Other Diseases:
Other diseases: The southern African countries are on the verge of becoming poliomyelitis-free, and risk of contacting poliovirus is now low. Hepatitis B is hyperendemic. Rabies can be a hazard in some areas.
Other Hazards:
Other hazards include snake bites.

I have always wanted to go on a Kenya safari, but I’ve never gotten the opportunity. I have read up on some things that you need to take along with you though. Seeing as you’ve never been to Kenya on a safari before, I suggest you take the list of things I’ve mentioned below.
-You are likely to suffer from the inevitable stomach problem traveler usually come up with, so you might want to take Immodium AD with you.
-Some anti-mosquito patches (or the whole safari would turn out to be nightmarish).
-A hat and loads of sunscreen.
-Small flashlight and a Swiss Army Knife.
-A converter and rechargeable batteries in case of emergencies.
-A local SIM card.
-Perfectly comfortable and strapping waterproof hiking shoes.
The list of things you should take would also depend on the quality of your safari, but make sure that you check on the immunization recommendations for Kenya.
Have loads of fun! _________________ Tour London
