|
|
The wildlife tourism option is emerging as a major selling point for the tourism industry in Kerala. For the nationally and internationally known travel agents Kerala is an unavoidable destination, but certain problems remain to be tackled. The main aspect that is proving to be quite daunting is the inclusion of more options for a visitor. In seeking to address this problem, the industry, is placing greater emphasis on tourism products that focus on the natural and cultural resources of the region.
This can be viewed in the context of a worldwide trend in moving away from short-term demand-driven tourism and a major move towards a more long-term, supply-oriented industry. But, the very nature of tourism, being a widely scattered one, and involving a very large number of private operators, has now made it difficult to implement certain standards and controls. This has frequently led to situations where the unchecked proliferation of tourist enterprises has led to problems of waste, pollution disturbance to wildlife and its negative impact on local cultures. More and more individuals and organizations, however, are coming to the conclusion that the industry could be better managed.
The concept of sustainable development is still in its infancy. It is borne out of fears that the needs and ways of life of an increasing world population are outstripping the planet’s capacity to support us. The sustainable approach to tourism applies to all forms of development, destinations, mass tourism, small-scale travel, and the rural and the urban areas. Tourism can be sustainable if it:
• Operates within natural capacities for the regeneration and future productivity of the available natural resources
• Takes into account the contribution that local people and their life-styles make to the tourism experience
• Recognizes that these people must have an equitable share in the economic benefits from tourism
• Is guided by the wishes of the local people |

Hello,
Kerala is really nice places it is known as God's country. IF it is called God's country then definitely there are some things which are near to God's like. |

Hi,
Now a days wildlife is an emerging field. Wildlife tourism developed rapidly after the end of the Second World. Viewing wildlife is being promoted in many government-controlled protected areas in Australia, Asia and Africa. In India also such an option is gaining in popularity like never before. _________________ Clare Hotels |

1. Driving around in the safari.
2. It brings in tourist money and it helps to build the economy. It also let people from another geographical area know about your land and wildlife.
3. They dumped irresponsibly and they take what they are not supposed to take. Their presence disrupted the lifestyle of animals.
4. Their presence disrupted the lifestyle of animals. Facilities and amenties built to accomodate tourists destroyed the natural habitat of the wild animals.
5. Building causes soil erosion. It house pests and disrupts the food chain. For example, the buildings will house cockcroaches. Therefore, the population of aminal which feeds on cockcroaches will increase, overwhelming over species.
6. Man over consumed some animals, taking away an important link in the food chain.
7. That is how food chains are affected.
8. Endangered species have an even harder time to survive now that the conditions are harsher.
9. The above are the disadvantages. It can be avoided by building environmentally friendly buildings and imposing environmentally friendly practices within the safari. The amount of people allowed into the safari should also be limited to a reasonable number if not lower.
10. That is how tourism can be carried out effectively. |

Hello Mangerpola
Thanks for sharing your views and yes it is true that by this wildlife we are benefited by two ways one is we can attract many tourist and hence tourism is benefited and on other hand many species of animals are preserved who are left very few. Another thing should be keep in mind, that while on safari we should not disturb the animals by any kind of means.
